Stage Management Class

Taught By Professor John Ore

This was a people project-oriented course that surveyed the job of being a stage manager- and the work “behind the scenes” of live performance with emphasis on theatrical productions. Some of the course objectives included understanding the critical role that stage management plays in theatre productions, learning how to create a Production Analysis and Actor/Page breakdown for a play script, demonstrating communication strategies commonly employed such as design/production meetings reports, rehearsal reports and performance reports, and developing standard blocking notation, using ground plans and keyed abbreviations.

Stage Management Class: Services

A stage manager should be familiar with all areas of design in order to understand and assist the designers and operators. Below I have attached various pictures of projects I have done in set and costume lab. Electrics lab is scheduled to be taken in the upcoming semesters.
